Saudi Arabia has been diversifying its economy, embracing digital transformation, and creating reforms aligned with its Vision 2030. These changes are spurring the growth of the construction industry. The government’s investment in infrastructure and housing development has generated more construction projects, causing construction firms to invest more in technology to meet the demands and complete efficient projects.

Construction boom in Saudi Arabia thanks to infrastructure investment

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has completed some impressive projects. This list includes Neom, the Red Sea Project, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) and Jeddah Tower. To ensure the success of these projects, technologies such as building information modeling (BIM), augmented and virtual reality, and data analytics are essential. Tekla Structures, one of Trimble’s solutions, was instrumental to the construction of the Riyadh Metro project. Providing companies with data-based and high-quality projects is their goal.

Most AEC firms face daily challenges such as miscommunication, lack of coordination between stakeholders, inaccurate data and misinterpretation, and delays in the timeline of a project. Data errors and duplication reduce productivity and efficiency. Trimble offers SketchUp Pro for 3D design, and Tekla Structures for BIM.

AIC Steel’s Riyadh Metro project is one of Trimble’s largest infrastructure projects. The 3B2 Western Station is one of the most iconic and largest stations on the metro line that includes dominant landscapes, including palm groves, oases, and deserts. It was designed by AIC using Trimble solutions. For such intricate and complex designs, AIC used Trimble solutions.
